About Oscar

Oscar Davies is a multi-award-winning barrister and the first in the UK to be publicly recognised as non-binary and to use the title ‘Mx’ in court, championed by the press as a ‘legal first’. Oscar has a broad civil practice, in court or tribunal most days, encompassing employment, education, commercial, human rights and property.

Oscar is recognised as a Tier 1 ‘Rising Star’ in the Legal 500 and works at human rights chambers, Garden Court Chambers.

In 2025, Oscar won Changemaker of the Year Award at the King's College London Distingished Alumni Awards for their advocacy work inside and outside of court. In 2024 Oscar won the award of LGBTQ+ Champion of the Year (Individual) for the Legal 500 ESG Awards. In 2024 Oscar was also nominated for DE&I Rising Star of the Year (Legal 500 ESG Awards) and Young Pro Bono Barrister of the Year (Advocate). Oscar was voted as one of 'Top 10 Outstanding Contribution to LGBT+ Life' by the British LGBT Awards 2022 for their work as an advocate for trans and non-binary rights.
