Legal firm Ward Hadaway required an MSP that handled their software licensing, updating and implementation as well as providing a high level of security for its customers and reducing complexity for users.
About Ward Hadaway
Ward Hadaway is one of the UK’s Top 100 law firms, formed in 1988 in Newcastle via a merger of a number of smaller practices on Tyneside. The firm employs over 450 staff, with over 90 partners, offering a full range of legal services to clients across the private and public sectors, as well as bespoke advice to individuals.
The firm is well established as a major player in the North of England with three offices in Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester. Ward Hadaway is rated as one of the leading law firms in the country by independent legal guides Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners and has acknowledged national experts across a wide range of specialist areas.
To successfully deliver this level of service, the firm sought a local cloud and technical consultancy provider that could provide reliable and long-term support to its IT department with licencing, upgrading and implementing cloud-based applications.
Seamless software licensing
To facilitate accessible, secure and efficient working for staff across the firm, Ward Hadaway utilises a range of Citrix workplace and Mimecast cyber resilience solutions. The firm’s IT department manages the maintenance of its systems in-house, as well as any necessary service support to employees across the organisation. Citrix Workspace provides an all-in-one space for Ward Hadaway staff to access on-premise apps, on-premise desktops and all files using one single sign on. The solution reduces complexity for users, whilst adding a greater level of security and control for the firm’s IT managers.
Upon the licensing renewals of its solutions, Ward Hadaway wanted to team with a local and trusted partner that could support in the short term, with potential to add further value to the relationship. Having undertaken market research, the company partnered with Newcastle-based cloud managed service provider Atlas Cloud in February 2019, to take advantage of its Citrix software licensing services.
Atlas Cloud specialises in managed cloud services and cloud hosting solutions for SMEs and bespoke solutions for mid to large enterprises, with a mission to enable great work from anywhere. Facilitated by the Atlas Cloud team, Ward Hadaway was able to transfer its Citrix licensing simply and with minimal effort required from its team.
As a large organisation that deals with confidential and sensitive case data each day, it is important that Ward Hadaway’s IT infrastructure delivers optimal security. Mimecast protects its email cloud systems with security, archiving, and continuity. The firm was later required to undertake a renewal of its Mimecast email security subscription. Due to a more intricate process and larger financial investment, Ward Hadaway sought the expertise of Atlas Cloud’s team to support the transferral of the licensing. The renewal was completed successfully, with a smooth transition and no disruption to the firm’s employees.
