Jay read Law at Cambridge and trained at Magic Circle international law firm Allen & Overy. He spent several years as a commercial litigator in the City, acting for the likes of Ryanair and the Belgian government.
Jay, the Masala Mentor, has 21 years' experience as a Solicitor, having fee-earned, headed departments, brought in work, been partner, undertaken myriad roles (colp, cofa, etc), managed staff, started up teams and firms and grown them and taken over firms as senior partner (he ran his full-service law firm single-handedly for 5 years) and improved / grown / sold them. This has given him a wealth of experience and knowledge that he now imparts in order to assist others on their legal and business journeys.
He built up his previous firm from 9 staff to almost 70 and sold within 4 years.
Jay is a mentor, coach, NED and trainer to lawyers, law firms and law firm owners, helping with everything from how to bring in work, maximise billing and cash, market and network, grow, excel in client care, impart value, use the magic triangle, being commercial, cross-selling, compliance, trouble-shooting, to strategy, being a shoulder to cry on, managing people (clients / staff / external), differentiation in a crowded marketplace, and more.
His billing and pricing workshops (88 to date) keep him particularly busy and on average generate an additional £78,343 per fee earner per annum.
