About Jack

Practice Overview Jack maintains a deliberate balance between financial remedy proceedings, cohabitation disputes and private law children work. He is ranked as a leading junior for both divorce and financial remedy cases as well as children and domestic abuse. Jack has experience representing clients before all levels of the judiciary, up to and including the Court of Appeal. He is qualified to accept instructions under the Direct Public Access Scheme.

Family Finance & Property Jack has been involved in a wide range of financial disputes including those concerning arguments around non-matrimonial property, non-disclosure and submissions as to the status of properties owned by companies. He is regularly instructed to advise on and draft pre-nuptial agreements and has a particular interest in cases involving family businesses, especially farms. Disputes between unmarried former cohabitants and claims under TOLATA also make up a significant proportion of Jack’s work, in particular cases which involve arguments around constructive trusts and/or equitable accounting.

Children (Private Law) Jack maintains a deliberate balance between financial remedy proceedings, cohabitation disputes and private law children work and is frequently instructed by those looking for continuity of counsel across proceedings.

International Family Law Jack has experience of cases involving multiple jurisdictions within both his financial remedies and his private law children work. He has successfully represented clients in forum disputes and in applications to relocate internationally with their children.

Domestic Violence & Injunctions Jack frequently represents clients in applications under the Family Law Act 1996 and is acutely aware of the need to deal with these in a proportionate manner whilst ensuring that his clients’ positions in any parallel proceedings are not prejudiced.

ENE / Private FDR Jack is regularly instructed to represent clients at Private FDRs, arbitrations and mediations.

Personal Jack’s young family means that these days his principal hobby at home is dispute resolution. He also enjoys art and architecture, food and drink and justifying the above by occasionally running. He is, very slowly, restoring an old MG.
