About these terms
These terms govern use of chroniclelaw.co.uk and the Chronicle Law membership platform. The service is operated by B Shaw LTD, trading as Chronicle Law, company number 12912346, registered at 2 Merchant Corner, Markeaton Street, Derby, DE22 3AP.
Separate Training Purchase Terms apply to paid webinars, courses and licences.
Information, not legal advice
Chronicle Law publishes educational and professional information from contributors, partners and other sources. It is general information, not legal, financial, medical or other professional advice and should not be treated as a substitute for advice addressing specific circumstances.
Views belong to the identified author unless expressly stated otherwise. Publication does not amount to Chronicle Law endorsing every view, service or outcome described.
Membership and accounts
You must provide accurate information, protect your password and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. Personal accounts may not be transferred or shared. Organisation administrators may manage workspace membership, licences and organisation-level learning records, but do not gain access to a member’s private saved content or personal interests merely because of that role.
Founding membership is currently free. Any future paid membership will be offered separately with pricing and terms made clear before a charge is agreed.
Acceptable use
You must not misuse the service, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious material, scrape protected member areas, interfere with operation, impersonate another person, infringe intellectual-property rights or use Chronicle Law information for unlawful unsolicited marketing.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, the platform or third parties, investigate misuse or comply with law.
Content and intellectual property
Chronicle Law’s site design, branding, platform material and original content are protected by intellectual-property law. Contributor and partner content may remain owned by its author or licensor. Unless permission or a stated licence allows otherwise, content may be viewed and shared by linking to the relevant page, but may not be republished, sold or systematically copied.
Where you submit material, you confirm you have the right to do so and grant Chronicle Law the permissions agreed for publication, promotion and platform delivery.
Partners and external links
Partner profiles, offers and external links are provided for information. Availability and terms should be confirmed directly with the relevant organisation. Chronicle Law does not become a party to a separate contract between you and a partner merely by making an introduction.
Availability and liability
We aim to keep Chronicle Law accurate and available but do not promise uninterrupted access or that every item will remain current. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.
Subject to those protections, Chronicle Law is not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss arising solely from reliance on general editorial material, external services or events outside our reasonable control.
Changes, contact and law
We may update the service and these terms. Material changes affecting registered members will be communicated where appropriate. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable consumer or civil-procedure rules may hear disputes. Contact brett@chroniclelaw.co.uk with questions or concerns.
