About Eliza
Eliza Harris is a criminal barrister with a busy practice prosecuting and defending a wide range of offences, including violence, sexual offences, dishonesty, drugs, and driving matters. She regularly appears in the Magistrates’ Court, Crown Court, and Youth Court, and also prosecutes on behalf of local authorities.
She has secured notable not guilty verdicts in serious Crown Court trials, including cases involving allegations of intentional strangulation, assault, and burglary, through effective cross-examination and detailed legal argument, including issues relating to res gestae and forensic evidence.
Before coming to the Bar, Eliza trained as an actor in New York and performed internationally. She also worked with the charity Amicus, supporting access to justice for those facing the death penalty in the USA, and completed a Master’s dissertation on non-fatal strangulation.
