The Business Benefits of Joining Will Aid 2023

At Will Aid, we support our participating solicitors to get the most out of the partnership which is why we are launching a brand-new workshop to help those thinking of getting involved understand the benefits.

This workshop is designed to help you understand the many perks of taking part – from the publicity opportunities open to you and the CSR advantages of helping nine of the UK’s best-loved charities right through to the prospect of attracting more clients to your business.

During the event, you will hear from one of our solicitors who has raised an extraordinary amount of money through their participation over the years, giving people the chance to have a professional basic will drawn up in exchange for a donation, and from our campaign director who explains exactly how Will Aid works.

We will also have a charity representative who will illustrate how the vital donations raised during Will Aid support their important work, and Lisa Smith, the Will Aid Press Office, will explain how she and her team help you get the media attention you deserve for signing up.

Lisa said: “Will Aid is a fantastic campaign that benefits nine of the UK’s most loved charities while enabling your firm to gain publicity in both your local community and on a national level. We have secured opportunities for firms to appear on BBC Morning Live and articles in the national press as well as local publicity which helps solicitors raise their reputation with clients on the doorstep.

“We give 100% support to firms from initial sign-up all the way through to the end of the campaign, and also then help celebrate the firm’s successes. A tool kit is provided to each firm which signs up along with the opportunity to drop into one of our fortnightly PR surgeries.”

Will Aid is an annual charity will-writing scheme that sees hundreds of solicitors just like you donate time in the month of November to write basic wills. Instead of taking their usual fee, donations are collected and then distributed by Will Aid to charity.

Will Aid Campaign Director Peter de Vena Franks added: “Appointments for Will Aid do get booked up extremely quickly, and each year, we receive far more demand than we can fulfil, so are always looking for firms to come on board to help fulfil these enquires and assist as many people across the UK as possible.

“We have more than 400 solicitors taking place already this year, but we need more to help meet the demand and raise more vital donations for our nine partner charities. We hope you can join us for the workshop on the 19th of October to hear more about Will Aid, and there is still time to sign up to support the 2023 campaign.”

Will Aid has been running since 1988 and is open to all adults. The campaign has encouraged more than 350,000 people to write their will with a regulated and insured solicitor and, in so doing has raised over £24 million in donations, and many millions more in pledged legacies. The suggested voluntary donation is £100 for a single will and £180 for a pair of mirror wills.
