About Alan
Following graduation in 1988, Alan took up employment as a forensic scientist and helped the organisation to develop into one of the leading UK forensic laboratories.
He was promoted to Divisional Manager in 1997 and was responsible for all chemical analysis including forensic and drugs testing work, managing over 40 professional scientists and undertaking work from ten UK Police Forces.
Since 2004, he has been the Managing Director of Bericon Forensics, one of the UK’s oldest forensic consultancies. The company reports on over 600 cases per year on behalf of criminal defence solicitors. He has written over 6,000 reports involving chemical analysis, alcohol and drugs, giving evidence in hundreds of Magistrates and Crown Court cases.
